We are excited to announce our new and improved FUNdraising event (formerly the Fun Run): The Amazing Acorn Race 2023! As part of The Amazing Acorn Race, Empire Oaks students will raise money through donations in support of a celebratory race on October 6th that promotes physical health, well being, and fun for all activity levels. This event continues the important tradition of Empire Oaks fun runs as our biggest annual fundraiser for the school. 

Our goal for the year is $50,000, and the money we raise will contribute to our fund for purchasing sun shades for the playground and classroom grants to support our EO teachers and kids. This year is also a return to a PTA-led event which means that - instead of paying outsourcing costs - even more of the money raised (at least 85%) will go directly to our students and classrooms!

Requests will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. All proceeds benefit Empire Oaks! (If you would like to celebrate a summer birthday, choose one of the first weeks of school or the last week of school!) Please complete the online form at least two weeks before the date that you would like your child's name posted.

Your PTA Funds at Work: Testing Week Snacks & Gum

Here's another way that we're putting your PTA fundraising money to work: Providing snacks and gum to support our our 3-5 grade students who are taking the CAASPP state testing this week and next week! Gum helps students focus and concentrate while testing, and the snacks help give them an extra boost of energy!

We are excited with the amazing mural that Mr. Andre painted by the multipurpose room! This is just one way that your fundraising money is being used, and students’ handprints will be added at a later date so that they can add their own special touch.

Your PTA Funds at Work! Teacher Grants

Earlier this year, the PTA established teacher grants, $200 per teacher or $350 for grade cohort.  So far, $1,250 has been granted, funding hard back books for First Grade, tri-fold boards for Fourth Grade state projects, Kindergarten baskets, and a social emotional learning day for Second Grade. The PTA is proud to help teachers expand their classroom and learning resources through our our teacher grant program.
